Really beautiful, but looks too much like Darktable.

I'm not sure how to say that in English without offending you, but... It's pretty. Very pretty. But pretty is not design. You need to consider what Shotwell does and how people feel about this kind of app. For me this icon says "I'm for photographers, I edit photos. I am artsy thing.", but it should say "I'm for normal people in their homes, I store their photos, their memories and protect them. You can trust me. But I'm not only for old sepia photos, but also for colorful photos of trip to the beach with your family."

i dont thinks so, in facts i think it reflect a more welcoming image to the normal user by using a more colorful interface it become more friendly and even for young users in comparison with things for photographers like darktable ,photoshop its all darkish with grey icons i thinks that i took an opposite approach to that.
and am a Muslim,i dont get offending easily ;)
thanks.

I still think it looks like icon for photo editor type of app. That lens suggests taking photos, not storing them.

Well, it looks like we just disagree. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
